Montgomery Cheddar

This cheddar has been made on the Montgomery farm since 1911 by three generations of Mongemery's. These cloth bound cheeses are coated with lard and matured for a minimum of 12 months, often longer to get that full flavour. Cheddar is not a regionally protected cheese, so Montgomery teamed up with four other regional farmhouse cheese makers, forming the ‘West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers’ to promote and produce genuine Cheddars. The group is committed to maintaiing tradition while improving excellence and authenticity in their cheesemaking.
